South Asia Mega City

Midterm Trip

Trip Information

Vision

Spend your summer serving alongside many of Redeemer’s Goers in one of the world’s largest and most vibrant cities. A city where the ultra-wealthy and the impoverished live side by side, offers a captivating blend of traditional and modern cultures, creating a dynamic atmosphere unlike any other.

Throughout your time here, you'll explore the city’s rich diversity, share the gospel with locals, and equip ministry partners. As part of the team, you’ll be empowered to build meaningful relationships and make a lasting impact on the community.

What's Expected

We expect participants on the midterm trip to be proactive and self-motivated. Much of the time, your group will be given ministry tasks and opportunities that require you to navigate the city independently, engage with locals, and share the gospel on your own.

As with all of our trips, flexibility is essential. You’ll need to be adaptable and ready to embrace a changing schedule.

The culture operates on a later schedule so expect to have later mornings and late nights. You will stay with your team members in an apartment that will have a small common area and a small kitchen. You will get to see and spend time with Goers but a lot of your days will be spent with your teammates.

Typical Day Includes

  • Arrival: A few days dedicated to settling in and recovering from jet lag.
  • First Few Days: Begin with orientation and training led by the local team. This includes cultural immersion and learning effective strategies for sharing the gospel. You'll also have time to learn to navigate the city.
  • Mornings: You will have slower mornings and there will be time to rest and do team devotions.
  • Afternoons: Engage in spiritual conversations with locals, participate in prayer walks, and train local partners.
  • Evenings: Evenings will be spent with local partners training them on evangelism tools, teaching about multiplication and discipleship.
